How to program key fobs using Lexia 3:

You will need to get your confidential code for the car from Citroen if you don’t have the card with the code on it. lexia will ask for this when programming.

You must ensure you programme ALL the fobs you have in the same session and tell Lexia how many you are doing in the session. Any fobs not included will be deactivated.

Programming tutorial:

The instructions are contained within Lexia when you get to the relevant menu for key programming.

Trans code:

the code is allocated to your specific car and verified by VIN from their confidential database. Lexia will not allow you to proceed if the code is not correct in any case as it compares the code to that encrypted and stored in the BSI.

Don't worry about the code, if the code you have is wrong Lexia will tell you it is incorrect & wont let you go any further.

Its pretty hard to go wrong, you just follow the on screen instructions, if you do something wrong you can just go back & repeat the process again.

One thing to be aware of is some of the immobiliser systems need Lexia to be disconnected after the procedure before the car will start so don't panic if it comes up with immobiliser fault & wont immediately start.

Just make sure you allow time to do it and follow the instructions exactly.

Test result: I programmed my new key and the original key today and the job went very well. my C5 is now running fine.

They definitely have the same coverage, I tend to use my KD900 through the software regardless so I can see the pictures.

updates are getting more regular too, pretty much every 1-2 weeks they add some.

the KD900 also has smart match which is great with the VW because it allows you to ID the remote & if there are any superseeded numbers it just tells you its equivilent

with regards usa coverage , it depends what you want it for as to whether useless .

It lacks usa domestic coverage , they have usa ford , some checrolet coverage as well as some odd chrysler , gmc coverage , but comes into its own on the foreign coverage , you should get it to pay for itself on

these alone if you see the cars will quickly pay for the unit and do you proud

kd100 remotes are the K remotes ie K01 K02 etc these only work with the old kd100 these will not work with kd200 , kd300 or kd900 , you need the B remotes , ie B01 , B02 etc

all of the blades and their numbers are listed on the keydiy.com website .

  1. vauxhall coverage and exclusive UK updates:

They are currently working on vauxhall coverage , they have already got corsa c and some old astra vectra working , they are working on this and on peugeot/citroen, so im guessing plenty to come over the coming year . as to uk sales , updates and availability , alot is going on and i know one company will be releasing some news on kd900 later this week or next that many will find useful .

like everyone else they have concentrated on the makes with wordwide potential like vag and ford , the rest will follow as they develop it , i can see them cracking vauxhall but i’m dubious over psa . but as it stands for uk use , we have 80% vag coverage on kd900 , 80% ford coverage , excellent hyundai coverage , extensive uk mazda coverage which is useful as well as nissan honda and toyota all 433 mhz uk coverage , its growing at a rapid rate .

ive used kd200 since it was 1st released as kd100 , 2 years now and ive done hundreds of their remotes with just 1 call back which was an error id made not the kit , so its reliable and its grown alot in this time.

if thinking of buying a kd200 or kd900 or a bulk of remotes , i know some good news is imminent in uk.

The last, KD900 REVIEW:

Suburu legacy 2008 worked a treat using Suburu 02 and cutting it on hu83!

Programmed 3 astra remotes in the last 2 weeks. 2001 estate, 2002 hatch and 2003 estate with alarm. All OK

Don't know what kind of remote programmed but the 03 with alarm was online. Probably Delphi

i use civic 2009-2013 and worked ok

I used kd-x2 to clone the civic .

I clone it on nb multifunction,thats why I was thinking that the remote will be cloned as well

I use the manual procedure for the remote

programmed key in the ignition and switch ignition on

lock door with 2nd key manually

press unlock button once

wait 5 seconds then press unlock button once again

now open door manually , switch ignition off and remove key and test the remote functions.

if programming 2 remotes , when you do second one follow same procedure but press unlock twice each time instead of once

also make sure you are using the correct remote , on that year it may be 1J0 959753N but could also be 1J0 959753 DA or AH , and can also be 1J0 959753 CT or AG

Edit to update: The new KD900+ is gonna to replace KD900 soon.

KD900+ has simple operation system than the KD900.

The MDI is a 1 shot deal for all the newer PCMs and will still work on the older stuff too. I sold my Tech 2 and bought an MDI last year, haven't missed the Tech 2 since. Then again I've got a Genysis scanner I use for all my typical diagnostics & probing.

However, the MDI requires a GM log-in with monthly access to GM's website. That's it's only draw back for the enthusiast who wants a GM caliber scanner. The Tech 2 can be updated within itself and doesn't require the internet, the MDI does.

If you're running a shop, get an MDI. For the garage warrior or enthusiast, get a Tech 2. Just don't fall for these $350 pieces of garbage.

You can say that, Tech2win is a pain the the butt. It never updates security correctly for the 30 day window and that using GM computers and login info. The tech 2 is great for code reading, viewing data. The MDI is pretty much only used for programming but its needs on certain 10+ platforms and all 15+ to view data through GDS. All MDI functions require a GM subscription.

Part 2: Tech 2 original or clone?

First, How to find the original or fake.

It is very simple. The first thing I look, it's the memory card slot, open it up and look at the cover, if you see the stamp of the body exactly original. Next, the original at all wires and Candy use aluminum. As different numbers on the back cover, the photo you will see the difference. Sometimes it comes and all labels need to glue yourself.

 

Second, worth to have a Tech 2 China clone?

In short, that is a nice piece of equipment to have, very nice!

Aside from working beautifully with OBD2, the tech2 is the scanner for GM OBD1 to use. with the right software (plug in chips like nintendo cartridges) it’ll do some daewoo/suzuki, GM medium duty (meaning bigger than 3500 using non automotive OBD2 standards), and other in the GMdistant family tree too.

In addition to generic codes (P0000-P0999) It’ll do all the proprietary GM codes (P1xxx), actuators, and systems. you can also view fuel trims, emissions readyness (beyond a green LED for all OK) and It’ll talk to ALL the modules rather than just the ECM (and if you get into the $250+scanners, ABS) like BCM, SIR, entertainment, EVERYTHING on a GM. At school I used one with a 91+ cartridge on my 87 S10, so going back further is hit or miss but posible.

To adjust shift points and fuel consumptiona and Speedo, forget it.

The TECH2 can’t do any sort of modding/tuning, only upload GM flashes. At least with legitimate software. I’m sure someone has custom software to do it but there are easier ways nowadays.

Is it worth if you just want to read/clear codes on your own car once in a while, heck no. If you’re doing a lot of work on GMs or want to get a lot more in depth with your car, it’s worth the money.

No comment on China knockoff quality, I mean a working tech2, Chinese made or not.

But the price ($12000) of MDI 2 is 4 or 6 times as MDI 1 ($150-$300).

The MDI came ready to use with the software installed. It worked since I already had Tech2Win, GDS2 and GM MDI Manager installed on my laptop. It works extremely well and I have no problems with it. The product image at the time I order showed the cable keeper, A/C 12 volt adapter and multiple diagnostic interface user’s guide CD which is used to install the MDI manager software on your laptop. These items were not included. It also said it was Wifi but did not come with a wireless card but with a wireless interface instead. There are two versions of GM MDI interface on China market, cheaper MDI less than US$180 with only USB connection and the other more expensive with wifi wireless connection.

The product would work excellent if you had the MDI manager software already on your laptop.

My device tested with many cars for 4 months.

Added a wireless card to that one too, same flawless performance.. Only issue for me is that they all have the same serial number.. So using 2 of them in the same shop with wireless would be impossible..

compared boards from a genuine to this clone, almost identical.. multiple layer pcbs, same tracers, didn’t see any difference except the board labeling was missing on the clone.

Wifi GM  mdi good, interface works online. update mdi 100%. offline not that good  for new cars.

Nissan Consult III Plus Ver.46.30 works on MDI interface as well (this is not tested by me, your are on your risk).

So far, i have good success with Allscanner VXDIAG VCX NANO GM + TECH2WIN. And now, i can make it work well with SPS, TIS2000 also.

VXDIAG VCX NANO GM + TECH2WIN:

Using the Windows XP vm with installed GDS2 that comes with it I was able to diagnose a 2015 silverado truck.

Using windows 7 and a 3 day subscription to acdelco TDS SPS I was able to flash the HMI module of a 2015 silverado to add a factory reverse camera to the truck. And I can use it with TECH2WIN to diagnose GM trucks (tested on silverado 2500 trucks of varying years 2001 - 2007).

VXDIAG VCX NANO GM + TIS2000:

IT works!! ok for anyone trying to use the VXDIAG GM nano with SPS this is what you need to do (order is important):

*** please note you cannot use the VM that the VXDIAG package comes with (GDS2 VM). It's configured in such a way it won't work with the dongle crack and caused me a lot of head scratching to find this out.

  1. Create a windows XP 32bit VM using VMWare Player
  2. Make sure you add an LPT port (set to auto, not connected on startup). It doesn't matter if your actual PC has an LPT port or not this is needed for the dongle crack later.
  3. Install VMWare tools for your VM
  4. After you have the windows VM up and running install the BOSH MDI drivers found here: http://www.boschdiagnostics.com/pro/soft...-and-mdi-2(the MDI drivers on the driver disk and vxmanager installer wouldn't install on my xp 32bit VM but the one from bosh does).
  5. From the driver disk or from allscanner.com install the VXDIAG MDI package with pass thru driver (VXDIAG MDI manager or VXDIAG Manager)

  3. All options can be installed using the default selections however make sure you check the install checkbox above the parallel security device on the one screen.
  4. After installation is complete you can extract the TIS2000DongleCrack.rar and copy the folder to the desktop of your VM
  5. Go into the TIS2000DongleCrack folder locate the drivers folder and open it, run the DDINST32.EXE (if you get a registry error you didn't install an LPT port in your VM), select Express and it should install the files then click ok / Exit to close.
  6. Go back to the main TIS2000DongleCrack folder and copy SCAControlUI.exe and Id.dll to c:\Program Files\cosids\bin\ (it will prompt to replace id.dll select yes).
  7. Go back to the main TIS2000DongleCrack folder into the Dongle folder and copy the 2 files in there to c:\windows\system32\ (the dongle crack is now installed)
  8. Now mount the tis_data_2.iso in your VM (use the virtual cdrom in vmware player and attach to iso file) and open TIS2000 (double click the icon on your desktop) when TIS opens it will ask you if you want to upgrade click yes.
  9. After the upgrade completes mount the GM-NAO-TIS200-3_2008.iso in your VM (use the virtual cdrom in vmware player and attach to iso file) and open TIS2000 (double click the icon on your desktop) when TIS opens it will ask you if you want to upgrade click yes.
  10. After the upgrade completes you have successfully installed TIS2000 2008.3 and the Dongle crack, now we need to configure TIS to use the VXDIAG GM nano
  11. Open TIS2000 from the icon on your desktop, select Configuration menu from the top and select IO Management.
  12. Click the Driver button, click the Browse button, locate the j2534.dll file in the window and click open (installs the J2534 Pass Thru Driver)
  13. Now click the Add button (in IO management) enter exacly "Generic Pass Thru" in Logical Name and select "J2534 Pass Thru Driver" in the Driver drop down, click OK.
  14. Select Generic Pass Thru in the list and click Properties, in the Device Name drop down select VXDIAG, (ALLScanner) and click ok then click close to close IO Management.

Now TIS2000 software is installed and configured all you have to do is connect your VXDIAG device to the PC / VM. To do this first use a usb and connect it to the PC then in the VMWare player menu go in removable devices and connect the Future Devices USB to serial converter. At this step my windows install didn't have the basic usb to serial drivers so I connected the VM to the network (if not connected use the VMWare player menu to connect the network) and windows downloaded them from the net and installed the device as com3. you are now good to go.

At this point you can now click on SPS in TIS2000 select Generic Pass Thru as your device and your good to program!!

Satisfied, VXDIAG VCX NANO GM device works as a clone to the GM MDI.

step 1: Xprog-m reads the immobilizer block EWS4.4

So, get the immobilizer block from the car ...

For this we remove the plastic protection above the gas and brake pedals.

We lay down on the threshold, look up and see a white box, this is  EWS4.4 . Unscrew the nut on the right, loosen the nut on the left, remove the connector and take out the block.

This immobilizer unit is assembled on a Motorola MC9S12D64 microcontroller , with a 2L86D mask .

Since on BMW X3 E83 , we registered the key for the first time, it was initially mistakenly assumed that the six points to the right of the processor would be enough for us to read the firmware.

However, Xprog-M , when reading eeprom 2L86D , issued the error:

  • Bootloader initialising error. Can not access BDM. Check BDM connection.

It became clear that the processor is "closed" and to read its firmware you will need a BDM adapter  1-002-0017 and, accordingly, another connection scheme.

But, strictly speaking, this circuit is also MC9S12D64 (2L86D) + Xprog-M (BDM 1-002-0017) .

step 2: avdi Program key to EWS4.4 FROM BMW X3 E83

So, we have a dump, which means that it's up to the small thing to program the chip, which is in our key.

To do this, get the AVDI (ABRITES Vehicle Diagnostic Interface)  and connect the Tag Key Programmer to it  .

We launch the Tag Key Tool , select the Key Tool item and in the Vehicle Model field , select our option - BMW EWS4. PCF7935 or EML . As you can see, only 4 keys can be assigned to the car, well, or a chip.

Click on the Load Dump button and select the dump that we counted from the processor. We tick the Key 3 PCF7935 / EML used and press the Prepare Key button . After that, the program asked:

  • Do you programming original BMW key (EML)? Press NO if you using PIT (PCF793x) transponder.
  • Translation:Do you want to program the original BMW key (EML)? Press NO if you are using a PIT (PCF793x) transponder. "

Click the No button .

There are three options to read get bitting code (also named key code) using SEC-E9 automatic key cutting machine.

What is bitting code?

The bitting code is the translated blind code which the locksmith actually uses to cut each blank key. Example: padlock blind code W123 translates to bitting code 25313, to which the locksmith would cut the key with his code machine by setting it to 25313.

What is SEC-E9 key cutting machine?
